Tell us about Lane and the journey to where you are now.
Lane is a workplace experience platform that works at any office building.
We connect into all the different software systems, vendor services, stakeholders, and make them easy to use. Lane provides a beautiful, seamless user experience for the end-user.
How does company culture contribute to organizational performance?
Culture and organizational performance are so fundamentally intertwined now. Culture really is the ‘how’ and ‘why’ you do what you do.
To me, the how and the why is the most important. If we don’t have a solid culture, then talking about performance doesn’t even make sense.
How do you hire and retain employees that best fit the culture?
We’re building out this team of intelligent, motivated people but it’s the it’s the ‘how’ and ‘why’ we do everything that we do is the most important.
When it comes to retaining the right employees, I think, we’re aware that, the modern worker may only want to work at one place for 3 years out of their career.
We embrace that because we still know that people will deliver a lot of value and add a lot to the team in that time.
If they want to move on to something else, we 100% support them in their future endeavours.
We are a workplace experience platform, so I see the benefit of having ex-Lane employees out there in the world, talking to all new potential clients about what we do.
What’s next for Lane?
For the last 3 years, we have been focused on organizing and building this intelligent layer for this really fragmented ecosystem that is the workplace.
Now that we have that done, we can move onto more exciting things like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, AR [Augmented Reality].
Now that we have this foundation, this is when the exciting stuff really starts to happen.
